My Note

Yet again, I’m sure I knocked my Stitch Fix stylist for a loop by requesting absolutely NADA.  The note to my stylist for Fix #53 was totally open-ended and all about Kimberly flexin’ her STYLE muscle!!

Her reply mentioned a date-night piece, linen pants, and a summery Boho look.

I’m intrigued…are you?!  Enough chit chat…on to the date-night-linen-Boho goods!

LooC #1–Kensie

Kimberly sent this Kensie Yetta Lace Knit Dress as a date-night option.  I think this stretchy lace-pattern dress could even pull triple duty as a hot date night number, a stunning girl’s night outfit, and a polished office look.

I would definitely classify this as a “body-con” dress.  It is slinky, and stretchy, and molds to your shape in a very flattering way.

Pair with leg-lengthening heels and sparkly clutch for a night out.  Swap for neutral flats and a mustard yellow cardigan to make it work friendly.

Fit:  Plan to size up one in this body-con number.  Kimberly sent a 4 and, had I kept it, I would have definitely requested a 6.

Price:  Fairly marked at $84.  Right on par with Macy’s or LOFT pricing, but minus the personal stylist perk  😉

Verdict:  Return

LooC #2–Kensie and Market & Spruce

Kimberly’s nod to a Boho summer vibe was an off-the shoulder top + linen pants combo.  She recommended the lightweight pants to help me stay cool in the pressing Virginia heat.  (It’s those personalized touches that make Stitch Fix such a treat!) 😍

The Kensie Dria Off the Shoulder Crochet Detail Top was almost a winner.  The crochet bib layer is a sweet detail that also offers a bit of “mom-ouflage.”  The elastic bands on the top and bottom of the sleeves, however, made for a comical “puffy shirt” situation.

Fit:  TTS, but elastic arm bands do squeeze a bit

Price:  Bit of a shocker at $78.  Not a total budget-buster, but no need to spend that much for ill-fitting sleeves.

Verdict:  Return

The Market & Spruce Vivianna Linen Straight Leg Capris were Fix #53’s surprise gem.  I LOVE these pants!!!

The word linen automatically makes me think itchy and shrinkage.  But, these capris blew my mind, they were SO incredibly soft.  The olive color makes a perfect summer neutral.  And the cropped length actually hit my 5’4″ self at the perfect spot.  These pants do fit oversized, and, sadly, the next size down was not available for exchange….even after a 2-week wait to see if they would come back in stock.  SAD!  I definitely plan to ask Kimberly to keep an eye out for the correct size of these wonderfully wearable pants 👖.

Fit:  Size down, these fit quite generously.

Price: $68–a great price point for Stitch Fix pants!

Verdict:  Return  (*wipes tears*)

LooC #3–Pixley

The Pixley Carol Tulip Sleeve Blouse immediately had my heart.  Anyone else have a secret love for polka dots, too? 🙋🏻‍♀️  Oh….just me…🤦🏻‍♀️ well then…

It was comfortable, it fit well, and I loved the simple black & white polka dot pattern.  I thought it looked great tucked in with these flared LOFT pants (lookin’ at you, young professionals!).  However, 99.9% of the time, I wear blouses untucked with dark jeans.  This Pixley top just didn’t look right untucked.  So…

Fit: TTS

Price: Moderately priced at $54

Verdict:  Return

LooC #4–Daniel Rainn

Oh, hello Daniel Rainn….we meet again.  Didn’t I tell you DR was one of SF’s staple brands?  😉

I almost dismissed this Daniel Rainn Cory Scallop Eyelet Top because I already own an embarrassing amount of navy blue blouses.  I definitely don’t need another one….rigghhhtttt? 🤔

Normally, the answer would be yes.  But, the sweet details of this DR top convinced me otherwise.  I mean…the neckline alone pretty much sold the top.  The adorable 3/4 bell sleeves and perfect length definitely sealed the deal.  Time to add another hanger to the navy blue section of the closet.  😎

Price:  A bit high side at $68, but worth it for the quality and cute details!

Fit:  TTS, wearing size S here

Verdict:  KEEP!
