Stitch Fix #50–The 👰🏼 Wedding-Wear 👗 Fix
The LooC household’s May calendar should basically have been one big heart ❤ emoji. May 2018 not only marked Mr. LooC’s and my 12th dating anniversary, it was also my 50th Stitch Fix delivery (yep, you read that right…5-0.. 🤩), AND my sis-in-law’s wedding!!!
To prepare for these special occasions, I asked Kimberly to style me with wedding-ready-looks and a special date outfit.
Ready to see what Kimberly sent for my 50th Fix? I thought so! Enough small talk…on to the goods!

LooC #1–Margaret M and Brixon Ivy
Are these Margaret M Printed Lea Shorts giving you a case of deja-vu all over again? 😉 I received this exact same style in Stitch Fix # 49. Oddly enough, this blue & white palm print fit much better than the previous floral pattern. I cannot explain why, but I certainly am happy they do!! The fun, retro print is right in line with this summer’s tropical trends and they fit with all the dreamy stretchiness the Margaret M brand is famous for.
The white Brixon Ivy Nehaly Embroidered Halter Top is just too sweet for words. I love how the sexy halter mixes with the sweet eyelet detail, making this a great option for a date night or a weekend BBQ. Throw on a lightweight blazer or cardigan, and it easily transitions from NSFW to SFW (is that even an acronym?). All this to say, it’s versatile!
Verdict: KEEP both!!
LooC #2–TRULY POPPY
Kimberly sent this TRULY POPPY Cayleigh Lace Midi Dress as an option for my sister-in-law’s rehearsal dinner.
Ironically, I JUST bought this similar lace-overlay ASTR Midi dress from Nordstrom. Normally, I am NOT a fan of lace, and now I have two lacy options from which to choose. AND [bonus] they are the exact same price point. The TRULY POPPY Cayleigh Dress is $84 while the ASTR dress is only slightly higher at $89.
Beyond price and material, the TRULY POPPY dress had several shortcomings when compared to the ASTR dress. First–the color. I’m all for black at weddings, don’t get me wrong. But, the solid dark only worked to hide the beautiful lace detail. 😔 Second–the midi length did not flatter my 5′ 4″ frame. And the slim, body-hugging silhouette looked more somber than celebratory to me.
Verdict: RETURN [I kept the ASTR for the rehearsal dinner and LOVED it!! I cannot recommend the ASTR highly enough. Comes in a wide variety of colors, too.]
LooC #3–Pixley
Straight out of the box, this Pixley Crissie Linen Dress looked promising Its classic navy color would be easy to style, and the back button detail was adorable. Oh, and I cannot leave out the best part…POCKETS!! There’s something about a dress with pockets that always gets me. If you’ve got legs for days or a toned, tanned back, this dress is for YOU!
Verdict: RETURN
LooC #4–Market & Spruce
I almost dismissed this Market & Spruce Blanca 2fer Maxi Dress right away since it had the same spaghetti strap/keyhole back details as the Pixley dress. Thank goodness I decided to try it on, instead! This dress is pure magic! The top is super soft with lots of forgiving stretch, and the overlapping keyhole somehow made exposing that patch of my back less awkward.
The skirt’s cheerful colors are made that much sweeter by the sassy slit cut subtly into the right side. This dress will have you packing your bags and booking a tropical vacation ASAP….it begs to be worn on a beach with a fruity drink in hand.
Verdict: KEEP
